Virginia A (Gettys) Sheesley

SHEESLEY-  Virginia A., 94, of Johnstown and Florida. Passed away December 30, 2016 at her residence.  Born January 13, 1922 in Johnstown.  Daughter of William Philip Sr. and Edna (Alwine) Gettys.  Preceded in death by parents, husband John D., brother William Philip Jr., sister Louise Dutt and grandson Milton M. Sheesley.  Survived by children John D. III married to Ann (Simco) of State College, Virginia “Dee” married to Rod Campbell of Pembroke, Mass., Thomas W. and his companion Paula Majhan of Johnstown, George M. married to Dianna (Curtis) of Amissville, VA, and Paul G. married to Susan (Gilmore) of Johnstown.  Grandchildren Nicole Sheesley, J.D. Sheesley IV, Wesley Campbell and his fiancé Lisa Ferrari, Thomas Campbell married to Caroline, Megan Sheesley and Derek Sheesley, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Member of Franklin St. United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed taking care of her family, spending summers with them including the Allentown Sheesleys in the Poconos, at Sky Top Lodge. Her other interests were gardening (roses and gladiolas), playing bridge, making hard candy and special cookies and doing needle point.  Special thanks to Joy Young, her husband Kevin and the team from Southern Care Hospice for the wonderful love and care they provided to Virginia.  Former employee of the F.B.I.  Friends will be received from 9:30 until time of memorial service at 11:00 on Saturday, at Franklin Street United Methodist Church.  Rev.
