William E. Sabo

William E., 86, of Johnstown, died May 15, 2020, at Westmont Woods. Born September 3, 1933, in Johnstown, son of Emil E. and Otilla (McKasik) Sabo. Preceded in death by parents; three sisters, Emily Slezak, Margie Baroni and Leona Walkowski; two brothers, Joseph and Albert. Survived by special friend of 22 years, Mary Kay Mostoller, daughter Pamela K. (George Svirsko), and sons Douglas (Keiko Ihata), William E. Jr., Scott E. (Salina Shaw), and Timothy J. (Tammy Swan); sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; and former wife Sheila M. (Quarry). Brother of Anna Mae (Johns), Caroline (Dynice), Dennis (MaryAnn Weimer). He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel for 32 years as a pipefitter and was then employed by several businesses before finally retiring from W.C. McQuaide, Inc (his favorite job) in 2016. In 2005, he was elected to serve as Mayor of Lorain Boro. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, fishing, playing poker, gardening, and helping others any way that he could. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. John Henderson Company Funeral Home is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of choice.
