William Georg Obituary

Georg -- William H., 94, Upper Yoder Township, sailed to his eternal peace on May 22, 2020, at Memorial Medical Center. Born October 22, 1925 in Johnstown, he served in the Navy during WWII aboard LST891. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel (Coke Plant). He was the son of the late Clarence Earl and Edith (Hartley) Georg. Preceded in death by wife, Jane (Huey) Georg (2000), and siblings Charles, Clarence, Grace Jarrett, Carolyn Lengel, and Helen O'Connor. Survived by daughters Barbara (James) Walker and Deborah (Gerald) Ferrin; grandchildren, Mathew Ferrin (Andrea), Ashley (Seth) Walker-Kay, Michelle Ferrin and Pamela Walker, and step great- grandchildren, Isabella and Austin Blough. Also survived by brother-in-law Raymond Huey (Karen) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a member of Moxham Lutheran Church, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Camp Sequanota, Somerset County. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Avenue. A memorial service will occur at a later date..
