Wayne Fisher Obituary

FISHER - Wayne Eugene, 89, Johnstown.  Born October 31, 1930. Passed away at home, lovingly surrounded by his children on April 25, 2020.  Preceded in death by parents, Mary (Roth) and Frank Fisher, brothers Ronald (Agnes Sloan) and Norman, and his wife of 63 years Barbara (Nash).  Survived by sister-in-law Delores (Adam Thomas VanScoyoc), sister-in-law Carol Baird Fisher, daughters Jodi (Lewis Tresnicky), Nancy (Stephen Dickert), and son Jeffrey (Tammy Gaines).  Grandchildren, Leisha Tresnicky (Gary Black Jr.), Luke Tresnicky (Austin Harrell), Dr. Christoper Tresnicky (Rochelle Jones), Joshua Dickert (Kayla Rosemas), Mariah Dickert (fiancé Andrew Frantz) and Sara Thompson.  Great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Ethan, Jacob, Danika, Braeden Black; Isaac, Amelia, Eloise, Rhett Tresnicky; Alexander, Victoria, Isabella, Natalia Tresnicky; Kyrielle and Keegan Dickert; and his devoted caregivers- Candi, Michelle, Kathy, and Carole.  Proud Ferndale Yellowjacket, class of 1949.  Korean War Veteran, U.S. Army, 7th Infantry 1951-1953.  Worked as a mason, electrician for Bethlehem Steel, office manager for Acme Markets, and owner of Old Toll Gate Inn 1974-1986.  Lifetime Member of Ferndale Volunteer Fire Company and the VFW.  Member of the American Legion.  Member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mundy’s Corner.  Wayne enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, attending sporting events, and anything that got him out in the sun.  He was forever the humorist, who loved a good laugh and always had a smile on his face.  Wayne was a devoted husband, father, Pap, Pappy Wayne, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a private graveside service will be held at Grandview Mausoleum with Reverend Kevin McNamara presiding. John Henderson Company Funeral home, 215 Central Ave. is serving the Fisher family.
