Wanda Baker Obituary

Wanda I. Baker, 100, Davidsville, formerly of Johnstown, died December 10, 2021 at Windber Hospice. Born April 7, 1921 in Johnstown, daughter of Lee and Leone (Butler) Inscho. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Richard; and niece, Barbara Kay (Becker) Darrah. Survived by nephews, Edward Glenn Becker (MaryKay Lukens); Donald Keith Becker (Rebecca Dixon); and Kenneth James Becker (Jane L. Thomas). She was a member of Westmont Presbyterian Church and long-time member of Sunnehanna Country Club, where she enjoyed playing bridge and golf with her friends. Mrs. Baker established the Richard G. Baker Awards at the Westmont Community Arts Center, to recognize teachers and volunteers for outstanding performance at the Arts Center. By request, there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made Windber Hospice. John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., is in charge of arrangements.
