Walter J. Witten

Walter J. Witten, 90, Johnstown, died December 20, 2023 at Memorial medical Center. Born December 21, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY, son of Walter, Sr. and Elsie (Hoffman) Witten. Preceded in death by parents; and daughter-in-law Bobbi Jo (Roman). Survived by wife of 68 years, Mildred (Grivensky); children, Ellen; Barbara (Peter Dragovich); and Robert; grandchildren, Daniel, Leah (Chais Smolnik), Kyle (Courtney), Kurt (Nowell), and Kaylee Witten; great grandson, Cole Smolnik; and canine companion, "Buddy". Walter was a retired truck driver from Birk Transfer. He was an awesome wood worker and an avid hunter. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Friends received 3-6PM Friday at Henderson-Makuchan Funeral Home, 434 First St. Conemaugh. Graveside service will be held 10AM Saturday at Grandview Cemetery with Father Robert Hall officiating. Military rite will be conducted by Conemaugh Valley Detachment Marine Corp League.
