Walter L. Clawson

Walter L. Clawson passed away on May 22, 2025, at the Dove House Hospice in Westminster, Maryland. He was the beloved husband of Adrean Clawson and devoted father of Don Clawson, Deborah Clawson, and Michelle Dierker. Loving grandfather of Katie, Taylor, Chaz, Abbie, Morgan, and Tyler.

Also survived by his sister-in-law Brenda Clawson, nephew Steve Clawson, and niece Christy Sweeney.

He was preceded in death by his father Walter Earl Clawson, mother Beatrice (Knipple) Clawson, and brother Charles E. Clawson. Walt served in the Air Force from 1962-1967 and is a Vietnam veteran. Walt then joined Commercial Credit/Citibank and had a career that spanned almost 4 decades leading him to travel around the world as the Senior VP of CitiFinancial International.

Walt enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing chess and attending their soccer, lacrosse, and baseball games.

He played in a pool league with the Senior Center and enjoyed time at the family cabin in PA and the Ocean City beaches. Walt is a member of the Central City VFW and Bedford County American Legion. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. Family will receive friends at the John Henderson Company Funeral Home 215 Central Avenue Johnstown, PA 15902 on Wednesday May28th from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral Home on Thursday at 12:00 noon. Interment in Richland Cemetery.
