VIVIAN JEAN (OWENS) THOMAS- Born in Johnstown, PA May 14, 1926. Married to the Love of her life, Dean Thomas, on October 28, 1950. Daughter of Milford and Nettie (Hildebrand) Owens. Graduated from Westmont Hilltop High School in 1944. Lifelong member of Roxbury St. Paul’s UM church, where she & Dean were very involved in all aspects of the church. Worked as a book keeper at the Bantly Hardware store for 30+ years. Survived by children, Craig & Cindy (Clay) Thomas, Marcia (Thomas) & Bob Bruce; grandchildren, Ryan & Julie (Cryan) Bruce, Ashley Thomas, Cory Bruce, Shannon (Thomas) & Randy Mikyska; great grandchildren, Cole, Salem & Sawyer Mikyska, Harper, Landon & Kinsley Bruce; brothers, Clare Owens, Kerm & Mary Ann Owens; lifetime family friend, Jean Rohde; beloved nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by her dear husband Dean, parents, sisters Audrey Keifer & Bertha Bremer, brother Bub Owens, sister & brother-in-law’s, Bob Rohde, George & Helen Nicely. Vivian was such a lovely Mom, Grandmother, and friend to many. Her strong faith, love and laughter will never be forgotten by those who now are responsible for carrying on in her good name. Friends will be received Wednesday, February 12, from 3-7 pm at John Henderson Funeral Home, 215 Central Avenue. A Celebration of Life Services will be held Thursday, February 13, at 11 am at Roxbury St. Paul’s UM Church, Derby St. with Pastor Valerie Mize.
