Thomas Miller Obituary

Thomas G. Miller, 51, of New Paris, passed peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Windber Hospice following a courageous battle with a rare and aggressive cancer. Born June 18, 1973, in Johnstown, a son of Mary J. (Seibert) Miller of Dale and the late Thomas W. Miller. Also survived by his loving wife, Meghann (Noon), whom he married February 29, 2012, half-brother, Robert McConnell (Kerri), half-sister, Mary Way, nieces and nephews, and his cats, which were loved like children.
Tom dedicated his life to helping others in Emergency Medical Services for nearly 35 years. At the age of 16, he volunteered at the local Dale Borough Volunteer Fire Department. Upon graduating from Ferndale High School, he became an Emergency Medical Technician in 1992, and Paramedic from the Conemaugh Hospital School of Emergency Medical Services in 1999, where he most recently served at Bedford Area Ambulance Service and East Hills Ambulance Service. In the past, he worked for other local ambulance services and Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Tom was an amazing friend and mentor to many, including Firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses. He was known as a pillar in the community and was the first to lend a helping hand, crack a joke to provide a much-needed laugh, and offer a shoulder on which to cry.
Tom was a loving husband, son, and friend who lived a life filled with tremendous passion and service towards others. He was known for his generosity, kindness, wicked sense of humor, and love for the Baltimore Ravens. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
Friends will be received at Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills, 2503 Bedford Street, Johnstown on Tuesday, October 15th from 10-12, 2-4, and 6-8 p.m., where funeral service will be held Wednesday at Noon. Rev. James F. Neatrour, officiating. Interment at Pavia Cemetery.
Thank you to Windber Hospice for their caring service, and Bedford Area Ambulance Service and East Hills Ambulance Service for all the support during and after his illness. Many thanks for the cards and caring expressions during his illness. Those wishing to honor Tom's memory may make donations to Bedford Area Ambulance or East Hills Ambulance, Secret Santa, or Toys for Tots. Donations in his name will serve as a testament to Tom's life and provide a lasting legacy of support to area residents.
