Theresa Ann (Dorsey) Holliday

Theresa A. Holliday, 86, Johnstown, transitioned peacefully to be with the Lord on October 21, 2021, at home. Born April 9, 1935, in Johnstown, PA, daughter of Eugene Sr. and Estella (Coleman) Dorsey. Theresa was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Reginald; sons, John Dorsey and Stephen and Regis Holliday; son-in-law, Gregory Henry; daughter-in-law, Vonzell Holliday; great-grandson, Leon Harris; sisters, Jennie Ellis and Mary Dorsey; and brother, Eugene Jr. Survived by daughter, Regina Henry; devoted daughter and caregiver, Trena Simms; granddaughters, Carolyn (fiancee Barry Britt) and Camellia Henry, Charvonne Holliday Nworu (Chinedu Nworu), and Alyse Holliday; grandson, Chioke Dorsey; great-granddaughter, Lovazia (Shon Brantley Jr.), and nephew, Robert Ellis (Sandy). She cherished twelve great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Theresa was best known for her jolly laugh, bright smile, and kind heart. Her humor and wit brightened many people's days, and she was adoringly called "Grandma Theresa" by countless children and adults in her community. Theresa was devoted to her family. She was a faithful Christian and long-time community servant. She volunteered with the Foster Grandparent Program for 14 years, caring for children at West End Catholic School, Ferndale Area Elementary School, and Cambria County's Head Start. She graciously served the Johnstown Housing Authority's Board (2005-2011) and Resident Advisory Committee (1998-2011). A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 30, 2021, at noon, Works of Deliverance Fellowship, 550 Park Ave., Johnstown. Rev. Richard Ellis will deliver the eulogy. Committal, Benshoff Hill Cemetery. Henderson Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., is serving the family.
