Sara Louise (Ober) Whitfield

Sara Louise Whitfield, "Sally", 95, Johnstown, died February 23, 2026 at Memorial Medical Center. Born October 28, 1930 in Johnstown, daughter of Frank E. Ober and Mary K. (Kautz) Ober. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Eugene E.; and sister, Martha Hemminger. Survived by daughters, Rebecca Jurich (Nick), Winchester, VA; and Marjorie O'Brien, Johnstown; grandchildren, Stephen O'Brien (Amy); Michael O'Brien (Megan); Bryan Jurich (Suzanne); and Brad Jurich (Tara); great grandchildren, Jacob O'Brien, Connor Jurich, Ethan Jurich, Chase Jurich, and Avery Jurich. Sara was a member of Moxham Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Johnstown High School, Class of 1948. Along with husband, Eugene she was the owner/operator of Whitfield's Shur Save Market. Friends received 5-7PM Sunday at Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford Street. Funeral service will be held 11AM Monday at Moxham Lutheran Church with Rev James West officiating. Interment, Grand view Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moxham Lutheran Church.
