Samuel L. Morris Jr., 65, Johnstown, died August 4, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. Born December 4, 1955 in Johnstown. Son of Samuel L. Sr. and Eula (Jones) Morris. Preceded in death by father, infant son DeShawn Lee Morris and sister Marsha Morris Tisinger. Survived by loving wife of 45 years Marleen (Harper); loving daughters Mylenea "Toni" Morris (Duane White), Selenea "TJ" Morris (Jared Robinson); grandchildren Amaya Robinson, Shemilla White, Marcella White, Jayla Robinson, Wynette White; great grandchild Giselle White, siblings Barbara Witherspoon (Billy), Rev. Ronnie Morris Sr. (LaVonne), Donnie Morris (Toni), Monica Hall and Christopher Vuckovich; sister-in-law Phyllis Ellis (Devon); brother-in-law Joseph Morris Jr. (Vickie); sister-in-law Barbara Hemphill; brother-in-law Calvin Sanders; sister-in-law Francine Sanders; children he raised Damita Manson, Raymond Morris, Cassandra Cunningham, Mark Tisinger Jr.. Sam was a member of Christ Center Community Church. Long time member of Wings of Faith gospel group. He loved to play his bass guitar. Sports were very much a part of his life, he was a hard core Steelers Fan, loved boxing and basketball. In January of 1978, Sam worked for Penelec until 1979 when he moved onto the Conemaugh Generating Station in Seward until 2017. He will be deeply missed by his loving family. A celebration of life will be held Saturday August 14, 2021 at noon at Christ Center Community Church, Rev. Sylvia J. King. John Henderson Company Funeral Home is serving the family.
