Ruth G. (Krestar) Schellhammer

Ruth G. Schellhammer, 85, Cover Hill, died February 18, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. Born November 20, 1934 in Johnstown, daughter of Michael and Genevieve (Mangus) Krestar. Preceded in death by parents; husband Carl J.; son Thomas S.; great granddaughter Emily Grace; siblings Michael Krestar Jr., Dorothy Bauermeister, Irene Goller, Leonard Krestar, Betty Gabany and Kenneth Krestar. Survived by sons Carl J. Jr., Gregory A. and Jeffrey L. married to Denice (Dill); grandchildren Jessica, Crystal, Carl III, Erica, Brent, Jeffrey Jr., Denton;  seven great grandchildren; sister Mildred Maurer. She was a member of St. Gregory and Barnabas Parish and formerly worked at Conemaugh Valley School District. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the McCullough house for the care they provided to Ruth. Friends will be received Friday from 2-8 pm at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 10 am at St. Gregory and Barnabas Parish, Fr. Robert L. Ruston. Interment Oak Cemetery.
