Roy Adams Obituary

Roy C. Adams, Born on 9/4/32 and passed away peacefully on 8/6/21 at Windber Hospice. Son of Merritt and Florence Adams and Loving husband to Catherine J. (Raymore) Adams. Preceded in death by loving parents, wife, brothers Charles,Gene, Jay, and Paul Adams, Sister, Dorothy Novison and granddaughter Alexa Eplett. Survived by brother Don Adams and sister Phyliss (Fran) Borodach. Also survived by Children, Deborah and (Jim) Leach, Michael and (Shelby) Adams , Greg and (Maria) Adams and Cindy and (Bryan) Eplett. Pappy to Jaime and (Nate) Shingler, Jason and (Samantha) Adams, Garrett and (Meghan) Adams, Megan and (Stu)West, Derek and (Jessica) Leach, Amanda and (Edward) Petrosky and Bryson Eplett. And nine great grandchildren. He will be missed by caring friend Connie and amazing caretakers, Karen Nanna and Mel Perry and the incredibly wonderful staff of Windber Hospice. He served in the US Army as a Corporal in the Tank Division during the Korean War Conflict. Devout member of Emmanuel Baptist and Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Roy worked 32 years at Bethlehem Steel and was fortunate to retire at the age of 50. He was an avid golfer and golf instructor and could tell you stories about every hole he's ever played and every course. Roy spent a lifetime being a humble steward of Jesus Christ by showing his love through prayers and good deeds to those around him. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life service is being planned for the weekend of his 89th birthday. On Sunday, September 5,2021 at 2 pm at Westmont Church of the Brethren, 2031 Sunshine Avenue, Johnstown.
