Rose Marie (Owens) Varner

VARNER- Rose Marie, 88, Johnstown. Passed away August 15, 2018 after a long illness. Born May 15, 1930 in Johnstown. Daughter of John R. and Grace E. (Gavin) Owens. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Karen Louise Varner, sister Lois M. Kresse, and brother Russell John. Survived by daughter Barbara Jean Brown (Stephen) of Stewartstown; grandchildren Renee (Brown) married to Paul Nutter and Martin Brown married to Madeline (Marcenelle); great grandchildren Margaret and June Brown, who are to be joined by two others; brother Lawrence “Larry” married to Lois “Jean,” and nieces and nephews. Member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral. She loved her children, grandchildren, animals and flowers. Volunteer at the Red Cross (Receptionist and Switchboard Operator and Blood Bank) and Lee Hospital Therapy Department. Friends will be received from 3-7 SATURDAY at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Funeral Mass will be held MONDAY at 10:00 at St. John Gualbert Cathedral. Father James F. Crookston, officiating. Committal at Oak Cemetery.
