Ronald P. Carnevali, Sr., 79, passed away unexpectedly at Memorial Medical Center on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. He was born and raised in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania by Dominick “Gus” Carnevali and Dorothy Carnevali. He is survived by his wife, Georgann (Grusky) Carnevali, who put up with his antics for 58 years, and six children; Ronald Jr. (Patricia), Dominick (Suzanne), Christine Dorman (Edward), Dr. William S. Carnevali (Brooke) Erica Miller (Shawn) and Rona Boley, as well as his sister; Joan Lamont and 14 grandchildren. Ron Sr. graduated from St. Francis University in 1961 and was an elementary school teacher in the Westmont Hilltop School District for more than 30 years. After his retirement from teaching, he was ordained as a pastor in the Grace Brethren Church and pastored Singer Hill Grace Brethren in Vinco, Lanham Grace Brethren in Lanham, Maryland and Riverside Grace Brethren Church (now Davidsville Community Church) in Davidsville. He travelled the world on church trips to South Africa, Thailand, China and the Ukraine. He returned to Thailand to assist the friends he made there in relief efforts after the devastating tsunami in December, 2004. He visited his relations in Italy and Sicily on two occasions where the Sicilians tried unsuccessfully to kill him with food. He found a reason to go to the store almost every day (he liked to shop, sorry ALDI). He sometimes played the drums, but always with his tongue out. We’re going to miss him. Friends will be received from 1:00 pm until time of memorial service at 2:00pm Sunday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Valley Grace Brethren Church, Post Office Box 178, Armagh, Pennsylvania 15920. www.hendersonfuneralhome.com
