Ronald E. Blough, 87, Friedens formerly of Johnstown, died April 20,2024. Born July 1, 1936, in Scalp Level. Son of Sterling and Harriet (Phillips) Blough. Preceded in death by parents, wife Gail (Pierson), brothers Charles and wife Janet, Marlin and wife Brenda, sisters Bernice and husband Russel Welsh and Cheryl. Survived by stepsons Michael and Paul Thomas; siblings Gloria (John Smith), Carol (Harold Sterner), Shelvia Weaver, Trudy Stein, Richard (Pauline Freidline); brother-in-law Donald Podrasky; 3 step grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild. He was a member of Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. Ron loved to write poetry and lyrics. US Army Veteran. Ron was a good Christian man who never wavered from his faith, God loving and kind, with a huge heart. He helped anyone in need whether it be family, friend or stranger. He donated to many charities. He never was fortunate enough to have had children of his own, but he always lit up when he was around children of others whether they were family or someone in a restaurant or wherever, he would always compliment the parents on their beautiful children. The family would like to thank Countryside Personal Care Home of Friedens and Heartland Hospice for the great care they provided to Ron. Friends will be received Friday from 10:00 am until time of funeral at noon at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., Pastor Brad Griesheimer. Entombment Richland Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by Menoher Post #155. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren.
