Ramirez - Robert Paul, 61 of Johnstown passed away on December 4, 2021 surrounded by his wife and son. Born March 9, 1960, son of Diego, Jr. and Caroline (Trotz) Ramirez. Preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Sandra, Brothers-in-law, Robbie Wyar and Richard Williams; In-laws, Louis and Violet McGucken, many aunts and uncles, several cousins, and his sidekick, Hobbes. Survived by his loving wife of 32 years Marcia (McGucken) and son Daniel Robert. Also survived by several Aunts, numerous cousins, Sisters-in- law, Sharon Backof (Steve), Donna Wyar, and Linda Williams, along with several nieces and nephews. Served as a paratrooper in the Army 82nd Airborne Division participating in Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada. Robert retired from SCI Cresson as a Corrections Officer several years ago and was waiting for Marcia to retire so they could fulfill their travel dreams and escape the cold winters. Robert loved vegetable gardening and sharing his harvest with others. He enjoyed being outdoors, walking, hiking, sports, and working around the yard. He was self-taught at home repairs and enjoyed working on projects. An avid reader who shared and discussed books with Dan. Sunday dinner at Aunt Tillie's with the Ramirez family was a treasured childhood memory along with the time David Rizzo spent in Minersville. In his retirement, Rob would sit on the deck for hours watching hummingbirds and could tell them apart. A quiet man, misunderstood by some, however, an exceptional husband, father, and son who would bend over backwards to make his family happy. He has left a gaping hole in our lives and will be greatly missed. Friends will be received Saturday from 10 until the time of service of 11AM at Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford Street.
