Robert M. Petry

Robert M. Petry, 90, Johnstown, died October 3, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center. Born December 22, 1933 in Johnstown. Son of George W. Sr. and Mazie Mae (Shaffer) Petry. Preceded in death by parents, wife Blanche and brothers Sanford (Hazel), Eugene (Vivian), George Jr. (Lorraine) and Melroy. Survived by children Eric (Kerry) Petry, Melissa (David Smith); grandchildren Andrew and Aaron Smith; sister-in-law Eva Petry. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Robert was an amazing woodworker, and he enjoyed fishing and duckpin bowling. Robert was a people person and made friends everywhere he went and he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Friends will be received Monday from 10am until time of service at noon, at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., Toby Holland officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at Arbutus and Conemaugh hospital ER for the care and compassion shown to Robert. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arbutus Park Manor Benevolent Fund.
