Rita Waligora Obituary

Rita Waligora, 86, Conemaugh, died April 18, 2024 at home surrounded by loving family. Born December 15, 1937 in Johnstown, daughter of John and Anna (Demko) Ocipa. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 61 yrs., Adalbert; son, Bert; brother, Edward; and sisters, Irene Waligora, Margaret Rosenbaum, and Anna Mae Faight. Survived by daughter, Denise, and partner, Debbie; 2 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Sister of Diane and partner, Bob. She was a member of Church of the Transfiguration. Rita had an unmatched sense of humor. Her love for her family outweighed her stubbornness. Friends received 2-5PM Sunday at Henderson-Makuchan Funeral Home, 434 First St. Coneamugh. Funeral mass will be held 11AM Monday at Church of the Transfiguration, with her nephew, Father William Rosenbaum as celebrant. Rita's favorite color was blue. In her honor, the family requests those attending to wear something blue. Committal, Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Windber Hospice.
