It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to Richard D. Zentkovich, 61, of Johnstown, who passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, March 26, 2026. An amazingly funny soul, Ric's life will be celebrated by those who knew and loved him.
Born October 16, 1964, he was the son of Ann (Silverman) Popovec and the late John Zentkovich of Uniontown. He is survived by his soul mate and devoted wife of 31 years, Laurie-jo (Jubin) Zentkovich. Ric loved his children unconditionally and was exceptionally proud of each of them: his son Zachary, daughter Zoey and her fiancé Shawn Lacue, and his son Zane. He is also survived by his mother, stepfather Ronald Popovec, sister Deborah David, and many nieces and nephews.
Ric earned an associate's degree from the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts and was a certified executive chef. He spent the majority of his career as a territory sales manager for Performance Food Group. Ric deeply enjoyed cooking meals for his family, coaching his children's sport teams and singing classic rock songs.
Among Ric's beloved companions were his fur babies: Maizy, Peanut, Willow and Bibble. He also dearly loved his grand fur-babies: Murphy, Feldman, Pebbles and Bam Bam.
Food, family, good music and movies were important to Ric, and everyone's life was enriched because they had some connection to him. He will be missed more than he could have known and was loved beyond words.
Friends and family will be received 2-5PM Sunday, March 29 at Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills, 2503 Bedford Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cambria County Humane Society.
