Richard M. Smith, "Smitty", 70, Johnstown, died January 4, 2026 at Heritage Ridge. Born August 15, 1955 in Fort Eustis, VA, son of the late Thurmond E. and Bernice (Kirkwood) Smith. Survived by children, Chelsie Smith, and Marc Smith and his girlfriend Morgan Rossman, granddaughter, Harlow Smith; brother, David; several nieces and nephews; and partner, Jean Stanislawczyk. He was a past master of Johnstown Lodge 538 F&AM. He graduated from Greater Johnstown High School, Class of 1973, and was a graduate from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was a retired director from the Department of Corrections. Friends received Saturday from 9AM until the hour of service at 11AM at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
