Owen W. Hunt, 92, Johnstown, died June 25, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. Born May 31, 1928, in Johnstown, son of William E., Sr. and Elsie (Kaufman) Hunt. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Robert and Leighton; and sisters, Mary Kelly and Hazel McDaniel. Survived by wife of 55 years, Betty (Hershberger); son Dwight Weigle (Bobbijean Albaugh); and grandson, Logan Weigle (Celeste Donatucci). Brother of Lois Hartland, and William E. Hunt, Jr. Also survived by sister-in-law, Bernice Eash, and many nieces and nephews. He was a life-long member of Westmont Church of the Brethren, where he served on the board for over 40 years, and the Western District Board including Camp Harmony and many other commissions. Owen was a member of the former Menoher Heights VFD. He retired from the former Hunt Oil Company serving as president for 40 years. He was a US Army veteran serving as private first class during the Korean Conflict. As a young man, he loved hunting and being in the woods. He had a passion for maintaining a large garden producing vegetables that gave him joy to share. Friends received 3-7PM Monday at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where funeral service will be held 10AM Tuesday with Pastor Paul Hamilton officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery. Masks and social distancing will be require by those attending either the viewing or service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westmont Church of the Brethren, 2301 Sunshine Ave.
