Orpha D. Knipple, 99, Johnstown, loving mother and grandmother entered into eternal rest on January 1, 2022. Born April 15, 1922, in Elton, daughter of John M. and Catherine (Rose) Davis. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Homer; son, Homer, II; son-in-law, William; and 8 siblings. Survived by daughters, Shirley Shaheen; Patricia Knipple; and Tammy (Paul Gustkey); grandchildren, Tina Cinko, Homer Knipple, III, PJ Gustkey (Jody), and Jason Knipple; and great grandchildren, Brittany, Kayla, Caleb, Nathaniel, and Kate; and her sister, Catherine Morabito. Orpha was the oldest living member of Homestead Ave. UM Church. She enjoyed cooking baking, and sewing. She was the heart and soul of her family that she adored. She was known for her loving smile along with her kind and compassionate spirit. She will be greatly missed by all. Friends received 4-8PM Tuesday at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where funeral service will be held at 11AM Wednesday with Rev. Carol Hickman officiating. Interment, Benshoff Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Windber Hospice.
