Obituary

Michael J. Fitzgerald, Johnstown, passed away peacefully at Laurel View Village, after a battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born in Pittsburgh, son of John and Annabelle (Flanagan) Fitzgerald. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Thomas and his wife, Gerri; and brother-in-law, Joseph Brattina. Survived by wife of 48 years, Linda (Kearns); children, Molly O'Neil; and Corey. He was the proud "Pap Pap" to Liam, Emma, and Maggie. Also survived by brother, James; sister, Patricia Brattina; brother-in-law, William (Wendy) Kearns; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, and was retired from US Steel. The Fitzgerald family extends a heart-felt thank you to the staff at Laurel View Village, especially Kim, Sonia, and Denise. Friends received 4-7PM Wednesday at John Henderson Company funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Funeral mass will be held 10AM Thursday at St. Andrew Church with Father Peter Crowe as celebrant. Committal, Grandview Cemetery.
