Michael J. Fitzgerald

Michael J. Fitzgerald, Johnstown, passed away peacefully at Laurel View Village, after a battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born in Pittsburgh, son of John and Annabelle (Flanagan) Fitzgerald. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Thomas and his wife, Gerri; and brother-in-law, Joseph Brattina. Survived by wife of 48 years, Linda (Kearns); children, Molly O'Neil; and Corey. He was the proud "Pap Pap" to Liam, Emma, and Maggie. Also survived by brother, James; sister, Patricia Brattina; brother-in-law, William (Wendy) Kearns; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, and was retired from US Steel. The Fitzgerald family extends a heart-felt thank you to the staff at Laurel View Village, especially Kim, Sonia, and Denise. Friends received 4-7PM Wednesday at John Henderson Company funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Funeral mass will be held 10AM Thursday at St. Andrew Church with Father Peter Crowe as celebrant.
