Melissa Robine Obituary

Melissa Ann (Merriman) Robine, 54, passed away on November 1, 2025, after an incredibly tough battle with cancer- a battle she faced with remarkable courage, strength, and grace. Through every moment of her illness, her devoted husband, Tom Robine, never left her side. He was there day and night, offering endless love and care. Together, they shared 37 years of marriage —a bond built on laughter, resilience, and unwavering devotion. She was preceded in death by her firstborn son, Justin; her parents, Ronald and Thelma Merriman; and her brother, Ron. Melissa is survived by her husband, Tom; her son, Garrett (Ashley); and her cherished grandchildren, Justin Jr., Aubrey, and Avery, who were truly her world. There was nothing she loved more than being their "Ma." They brought her endless joy, pride, and purpose — her face would light up every time she talked about them, and their smiles could brighten even her hardest days. She is also survived by her brothers, Don, Tom (Carol), and Bob; her in-laws, Tom (Gloria), Robine, and Joan Swinger; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Jen Miller. Melissa was a woman of great strength and an even greater heart. She was known for her honesty, humor, and generosity never afraid to speak her mind, a quality her mother-in-law Gloria, lovingly summed up with the nickname "PITA." Beneath that fiery spirit was a heart of pure gold. She was always the first to help someone in need, often cooking enough food to feed an army and sending it out to family and friends, simply because she loved taking care of others. She found peace near the ocean, one of her favorite getaways, and had a special fondness for dolphins. Melissa also adored her loyal dogs, Shadow, Newton, and Vander, who were far more than pets — they were her constant companions, her comfort, and truly like her children. For 22 years, Melissa worked as a nursing assistant, most recently at Westmont Woods. Her compassion, humor, and dedication made her not only a respected coworker but also a dear friend to many. Her faith was quiet but unwavering. Even through her hardest days, she carried a steadfast belief in God and never lost sight of hope. She often reminded those around her that faith means trusting in the Lord, even when life feels uncertain - a strength she lived by until the very end. Melissa will be remembered for her fierce love, resilience, and selflessness. Her laughter, warmth, and giving heart will live on forever in the lives of all who were blessed to know her. Friends will be received Friday from 4-7 at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. and Saturday from 9:00 until time of funeral at 10:00 at Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship. Pastor Jim Gay, officiating. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. www.hendersonfuneralhome.com
