Mary Ellen Bartos, 90, Johnstown, died October 24, 2019 at Richland Healthcare and Rehab. Born December 9, 1928 in Johnstown, daughter of John H. Sr. and Verna (Richardson) Hammerle. Preceded in death by parents; husband Stephen E. Bartos; brother John H. Hammerle Jr.; sisters Virginia Myers, Janet Henger, Irene Miske. Survived by loving daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and Richard Korber. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who lovingly referred to her as Aunt Mame. Mary Ellen was a former employee of Bell Telephone and the book keeper for the family business. Over the years she was a devoted care giver to many family members. She was an excellent cook known for hosting many wonderful gatherings of family and friends. The family would like to thank Richland Healthcare and Rehab and Conemaugh Regional Hospice (especially Judi and Peggy) for taking such good care of Mary Ellen. At her request there will be no public viewing or service. Inurnment St. Johns Cemetery. John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. is serving the family.
