Margaret S. Gresh, 89, Johnstown, died April 20, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center. Born October 29, 1931 in Johnstown, daughter of Timko and Veronica (Sroka) Larnek. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Peter; son, Peter D.; brothers, Michael, John, and Thomas; and sisters, Helen, Mary, Pauline Lemansky, Kay Cook, Nancy Dyda, and Ann Salomonson. Survived by children, Patricia (David Gable); and Deacon James M. (Heidi Smith); grandchildren, David Gable (Tabitha), Brian Gable, Sonja Gable, Josef Gresh, Joshua Gresh, James Gresh (Edith) and Katia Gresh; a great grandson, her pride and joy, Eric David Gable; and a niece, Helen (Roland Camille). She was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church. She was a retired LPN from Lee Hospital. Margaret's quiet journey through life was a journey of love - love for the disabled, love for the weak and frail, love for the young especially her grandchildren and great grandson. Margaret impacted everyone along the path of her journey of love. While no one's life is free of suffering, we can only pray that we are "worthy of the suffering" we have been blessed to receive. Margaret taught us about love. And in her remaining days, I can truly say that I "touched" the untouchable: "love" and at that moment I felt our "souls embrace." Glory to God! The expression of love and remembrance of Mom from many people brings us joy in a time of grief. We appreciate your request to attend viewing hours and to visit our family. However, due to the pandemic and our current family situation, we have decided to keep the funeral activities private. Instead, we plan to host an event to celebrate Mom's life on the one-year anniversary of her passing. Henderson-Makuchan Funeral Home, 434 First St. Conemaugh is serving the Gresh family.
