Loretta Fochtman, 90, of Johnstown, passed away on July 13, 2025, at Windber Hospice. She was born on January 1, 1935, in Windber, PA, daughter of Isidore and Fannie (Roschnafsky) Leonardis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; grandson, Stephen Fochtman; sister, Louise Pekala; and brother, Isadore Leonardis. Loretta is survived by her children: Patti (Ron) Hankinson, Michelle (Ken) St.Clair, Kathy (Ray) Diamond, Tom (Karyn) Fochtman, Jackie (Brian) Riffle, and Ken (Paula) Fochtman. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lindsay, Shane (Dana), and Brett (Aimee) Hankinson; Amanda and Laura St.Clair; Neil (Logan) Diamond; Jaclyn (Josh) Feathers; Rob (Tiffany) and Dane Fochtman; Kaylynne (Eric) Rex; Erin (Nick) Schupbach; Rebecca (Joe) Pfeffer; Emily (Ruben) Schaapman; Tyler (Gianna) Shaw; Tom (Sarah) Riffle; Sean (Brittany) Riffle; Alan (Amber) Waters; and Jonathan and Erin Fochtman.
She was the proud great-grandmother of Owen and Gavin Hankinson; Jonah and Aspyn Hankinson; Chase and Brody Diamond; Lexi, Lira, and Easton Feathers; Alex and Eva Schupbach; Theodore Schaapman; Gabby, Geonna, Brennley, and Kamdyn Riffle; Ellie and Bryce Waters; and Wyatt and Mia Rex. Also surviving are former daughter-in-law, Cindy (Wayne) Ickes and dear friend and sister-in-law, Roseann Leonardis.Loretta was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She cherished time spent with her family and was known for her warmth, generosity, and countless acts of love. She enjoyed cooking, cross-stitching, reading, camping, and sharing her many talents with those around her. Her long, heartfelt phone conversations with Aunt Rosie were among her favorite pastimes. Loretta worked as a seamstress at Bestform before dedicating herself full-time to raising her six children. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, where her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19th at 10:00 AM with Fr. Peter Crowe as celebrant. In accordance with Loretta's wishes, there will be no viewing. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Windber.
