Lois Jean Bender, 83, Johnstown, died May 17, 2020 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born June 13, 1936 in Robinson, daughter of John and Dora (Campbell) Fry. Preceded in death by parents; and sisters, Ann Marsh, Cora Fry, Gladys Fry, Phyllis Cramer, and Helen Fry. Survived by husband, Donald, whom she married May 23, 1959; sons, David, and Michael (Jill); grandsons, Collin (Kristen), Timothy, Matthew, and Luke; great granddaughter, Natalie; and brother, John. She was a member of St. Mark Episcopal Church, where she taught Sunday School and participated in various church activities. Lois was a volunteer at New Day, and served as a den mother Cub Scout Pack 38. She was a member of the JHS Band Booosters. She loved being a grandmother and great grandmother. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. The Bender family is being served by John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arbutus Park Manor.
