Egts (Tomak), Linda, 81, of Richland, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, June 13, 2025. Born December 1, 1943, she was preceded in death by her husband and soulmate, Daniel Egts; mother, Dorothy (Rishell) Shirey; and grandparents, Anna (Reynolds) Rishell-Finnegan and Eugene Finnegan. She is survived by her sons, David Egts, married to Melissa (Hartfiel), and Stephen Egts, married to Warren Rickart; granddaughter, Lauren Egts; and granddog, Robby Egts. Linda was an award-winning former employee of Sears, MetLife, and Johnstown Savings Bank. She loved traveling with her best friend and husband, Dan, and found joy in cooking and caring for her family. Rhubarb pie, haluski, pigs in the blanket, and potato salad were just a few of her many crowd-pleasing recipes. Her positive and caring approach to life touched everyone she met, showing us that small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Blessed with uncanny luck, Linda never met a raffle she couldn’t win—or resist entering. Her winning smile, laughter, and love for her family will be deeply missed. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Henderson Funeral Home–East Hills, 2503 Bedford St., Johnstown, on Thursday, June 19, from 3 to 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 600 Park Ave., Johnstown, on Friday, June 20, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice that serves others with joy and kindness, per Linda’s wishes.
