Leona J. Kleinmeyer, 77, Johnstown, lost her battle with Covid-19, on May 9, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. Born January 22, 1944 in Johnstown. Daughter of Harry and Mary (Firm) Murray. Preceded in death by parents, sons Robert P. and James Jr., brother Patrick Murray and sister Peg Mardis. Survived by loving husband James Kleinmeyer Sr., with whom she would've celebrated 60 years of marriage in December. Surviving children Pamela married to Paul Smiach and David Kleinmeyer of Las Vegas; grandson Kyle Smiach married to Courtney of North Carolina; siblings John Murray, Sharon Flood, Janet Gnann; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was a lifelong member of Tire Hill Church of the Brethren. Over the years she served on the board, sang in the choir, taught Bible School, was part of the Sounds of Faith and women's fellowship. Leona initiated her own card ministry. A 1961 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School. She pursued creative expression through ceramics, crafts, sewing and decorating. Leona loved gardening and shared her flowers with many. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family with a beautifully set table, plenty of food and maybe a card game. All that knew her will miss her kind and generous spirit. At her request there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. The family suggests donations to Tire Hill Church of the Brethren in Leona's name. Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills is serving the family.
