Larry L.Rutledge, Ph.D. died at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center on July 7, 2024.
Dr. Rutledge was born on February 23,1953 in Memphis, Tennessee. Only son of William and Amy (Samuels) Rutledge. Predeceased by parents and mother-in-law, Jane (Evans) Mulvehill and father-in-law, John D. Mulvehill. Survived by loving wife, Barbara Anne (Mulvehill) Rutledge, Ph.D. and beloved only daughter Laura Noel Rutledge, San Francisco, CA. Dr. Rutledge was a renowned neuropsychologist in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio. After retiring from the Crichton Center as the outpatient Neuro Psychologist, he went to work for the Federal Department of Defense and developed the program for the Wounded Warriors.
He was the former president of the Laurel Highlands Psychological Society in Cambria County and president of Western Pennsylvania Brain Association. Dr. Rutledge was a scholar among scholars. He was a retired Commander in the United States Navy. Larry's motto was always, 'do the right and honorable thing in life!' He never gave up during his lengthy illness and never complained. He fought the good fight and now it is time for his journey to be with our Lord! The family would like to thank Dr. B. Maharajh and Mrs. Maharajh for their outstanding care during Larry's illness; night or day, they were always by our side. Services will be held privately.
