Dr. Katherine E. (Kennedy) Reist

Dr. Katherine E. Reist, 81, Johnstown, died February 1, 2024, at home. Born December 5, 1942, in Patterson, NJ. Daughter of Gordon and Virginia (Robertson) Kennedy. Preceded in death by parents, former husband William K. Reist and brother Douglas S. Kennedy. Survived by sons Gregory K. and Michael A., and sister Carol Kennedy. Katherine was a graduate of Ridgewood High School in NJ, received her bachelor's degree from Muskingum College in OH and her masters and PHD from Ohio State University. She was a history professor at UPJ since 1988 and retired in 2023. She supported the local food pantry and donations may be made there in her memory. A memorial service will be held Friday at 3:00 pm at the UPJ J Irving Whalley Memorial Chapel. John Henderson Company funeral Home is serving the family.
