Karen L. (Cope) Ziants

Karen Ziants, age 79, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. She is survived by her loving son, Gerald T. Ziants, and wife Ann Murphy. Grandkids Taylor Ziants, Courtney and John Matlon, great-grandkids Addison and Alyssa Matlon. Sister Sharen Bukowski (Cope). Preceded in death by husband Gerald Neil Ziants, and parents Gerald R. Cope and Barbara Cope. Karen was born in Johnstown Pennsylvania in 1947 and graduated from Johnstown High School in 1965. She moved to Highland in 1972 and was very active in town affairs. She was a member of the Welcome Wagon Club and Bowling League. She was a member of the Lake County Republican Party, and a member of the Highland Council of Community Events. She also belonged to the Lion's Club of Highland, In 2015 she had a stroke and lived with her son in Burns Harbor, then moved to Demotte in 2020. Friends will be received Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Johnstown, PA, 15902 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at Richland Cemetery.
