Karen L. Snavely

Karen L. Snavely, 75, Richland, died January 25, 2023 at her home. Born May 12, 1947 in Johnstown. Daughter of Robert L. and Bernice C. (Kline) Snavely. Preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Helen (Moore) Snavely. Survived by loving wife of 38 years Susan Bissett; siblings R. Bradley Snavely (Linda Cairns), Sandra Heinrich, Dawn Wyandt (Richard Kazamek), Wendy (Robert Jeschonek), Joel Snavely (Jane Edkin); nieces and nephews Scott Snavely, Jason Wyandt, Brett Heinrich, Stacey Wyandt, Autumn Hobor, Andrew Snavely; innumerable friends, including special friends Bill and Karen Barbin; canine companion Liza Bleu. She was a 1965 Greater Johnstown graduate and a 1969 Slippery Rock University graduate. Karen loved gardening, traveling and being with family and friends. She played softball for many years with the Jerome Polish Falcons. She retired from teaching after 36 years from the Windber School district where she also coached girls basketball. Avid Steelers fan. The family would like to thank Windber Hospice and nurse Elaine Stewart for the care they provided to Karen. Friends will be received Sunday from 2:00 pm until time of service at 5:00 pm at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Inurnment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
