On December 18, 2021, Jymela Bnai Thompson, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, transitioned peacefully in her sleep. Jymela was born on February 26, 1976, alongside her twin brother Jymil Thompson, to Linda (King)Thompson and Erskine Thompson in Johnstown, PA. Jymela will be forever remembered for her kindness, ambition, and passion for helping others. She was a small-town girl with big-city dreams. After Jymela graduated from high school, she became a licensed cosmetologist, obtained her business degree, and was actively pursuing another degree in nursing while also writing her first book. She was a life-long learner and never gave up on making her dreams a reality. Often called a real-life superhero by her children, Jymela excelled at doing it all. For the last eight years, Jymela has had a thriving career as a Psych Technician at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Her lifelong goal was to start her own business for personal home care. Jymela is preceded in death by her beloved maternal and paternal grandparents and nephew. In addition to her parents, she is survived by children Quayshawn Thompson and Crishira Cotton, adopted children Arzi, Hezekiah, Corey, siblings twin brother Jymil Thompson, Brittany V. Thompson, William K. Herring, and a host of loving stepsiblings, relatives, and friends. Friends will be received Monday, December 27 from 4:00-7:00 pm at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. There will be a funeral service Tuesday at 11:00 am for close family and friends at the funeral home. By request, everyone attending will be required to wear a mask for viewing and funeral. .
