Joseph Sernell

Joseph Sernell, 93, Johnstown, died August 26, 2024 at his residence. Born January 20, 1931 in Johnstown, son of Joseph and Mary (Dezelon) Sernell. Preceded in death by parents; and two sisters. Survived by wife of 73 years, Rose (Polosky); son Joseph Jeffrey; and grandchildren, Joseph Matthew (Sarah); and Rachel Marie. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. He was retired from US Steel. He served in the US Army as a medic during the Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Seargent. By request, there will be no public viewing. Funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Benedict Church. Henderson Funeral Home-East Hills is serving the family.
