Obituary

Joseph Dennis Cyburt, 78, Johnstown, died April 26, 2023 at his home. Born September 28, 1944 in Johnstown. Son of Joseph and Veronica J. (Lugar) Cyburt. Preceded in death by parents and sister Maureen Logvin. Survived by daughters Barbara J. Zabava and Jennifer A. (Michael S.) Purcell; grandchildren Kaylee and Brenden Zabava and Sydney and Connor Purcell; sister Louise Haslett.
Dennis was a 1967 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and obtained his Master's degree from St. Francis University. He loved traveling and had a lifelong love of learning, everything from science to history to politics. Dennis was an avid collector of coins and antiques, and was a car enthusiast.
Dennis was a consummate outdoorsman and a member of Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed deer and duck hunting and fishing. His adventurous nature and love of the outdoors and travel led him all over the world to camp, rock climb, scuba dive and ski. 
A memorial service will be held May 8, 2023 at 11 am at Grandview Cemetery, mausoleum 1. Entombment Grandview Cemetery. John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. is serving the family.
