John Weakland, 89, Johnstown, died July 26, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 6, 1932 in Johnstown, son of John and Helen (Whitney) Weakland. Preceded in death by parents; wife Joan (Hawthorne); and sister, Jacqueline Bell. Survived by sons, William (Sandra); and Gary (Kimberly); grandchildren, Michael Weakland (Colleen); and Kari (Terrill Simms); and great grandchildren, Sydney Weakland, and Ella and Jaxon Simms. He was a member of Roxbury St. Paul UM Church, Alma Lodge 523 IOOF, and Disabled American Veterans. John was a retired math teacher from Prince Georges County, Maryland School District. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. By request, there will be no public viewing. Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. John Henderson Company Funeral Home is serving the Weakland family.
