John Muchesko Obituary

Muchesko, John P., 72, died peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. Born August 7, 1951 to John and Marie (Warner) Muchesko. The oldest of five children. He is proceeded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Karen Muchesko. Survived by wife of 42 years Ellie and daughters Laura and Anna. Also survived by siblings Tom Muchesko, Cindy (Jim) Maruhnich, Bill (Dana) Muchesko, and Linda (Brian) Wade. John was a 1969 graduate of Ferndale High School. He then attended the University of Pittsburgh, first at Johnstown and then in Oakland, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for International Harvester in the truck division before coming home to be his father's business partner at M&C Trucking Company in 1975. John's true passion in life was trucks and all things trucking. With his vision and help from his wife Ellie, M&C grew from 5 trucks to over 100 and has provided many people their entire career at one company. John was never happier than when he was able to get in his truck or triaxle and be out working. From local blacktopping to running to Canada or Chicago he always had a smile on his face and a spring in his step. He was one of the smartest people anyone would ever meet and had a memory like no other. He could recall the license plate and vin number for every truck in the fleet from memory. John was generous to a fault. No matter what was happening, his first question, maybe after a little yelling, was how can I help. Even while being sick in the hospital he still would offer help to anyone that needed it. He believed in treating people fairly and wanted others to succeed. And he was quick to forgive when he was not treated the same. John was very happy when both of his daughters came to work for him at M&C. John was a devoted lifelong parishioner at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in cambria city. He had a strong and unwavering faith. Friends will be received from 4-8 Thursday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home. Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:00 Friday at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church. Reverend Monsignor Raymond A. Balta, officiating. Committal at Grandview Cemetery. www.hendersonfuneralhome.com
