Langer, Jerry E. age 78, Johnstown, PA passed away peacefully on October 7, 2023. Born September 14, 1945 in Johnstown. He was preceded in death by parents Frank and Thelma Langer, brothers Larry and Thomas, and sister Linda Blue. Jerry is survived by loving wife of 54 years Suzanne (Klucik) Langer, and daughters Laura (Steve) Eshleman of Granada Hills, CA and Melissa (Jason) Gaydos of Middletown, MD, and sister Bonnie Mitchell of Bethlehem, PA. Also survived by grandchildren Joshua Brown (Denver, CO), Ross Eshleman, and Chloe, Sadie and Griffin Gaydos. Jerry is a 1963 graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School and a 1968 graduate of University of Pittsburgh. Jerry was a hard worker beginning with delivering newspapers as a young boy and jobs at Bethlehem Steel and Shetler Memorials while attending Pitt. Upon graduation, Jerry worked for the U.S. Census Bureau as a budget analyst and later at Econo Lodge and REC Carpet. Jerry enjoyed traveling on family trips to Myrtle Beach, SC and island trips with Suzanne and friends. He also enjoyed his grandchildren's many sporting and dance events. Jerry will always be remembered for his bright smile, contagious laughter, and love of country music. He survived polio at age 9. Jerry was a member of Westmont Presbyterian Church, where family and friends will be received Friday from 11AM until time of service at noon, with Rev. Bernard Nti officiating. Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Laurel Highlands Alzheimer's Foundation.
