Jean Updyke

UPDYKE- Jean Leona, 86, Johnstown. Passed away October 30, 2023. Born August 2, 1937 in Johnstown.
Daughter of Alfred and Beatrice (Murray) Birch. Preceded in death by parents, husband Edwin and son Bruce. Survived by children, Debra Heider (James), Brian Updyke (Connie) and Randy Updyke; grandchildren, Lacey (Heider) Lilly, Lee Heider, Audrey Updyke, Sierra and Zane Updyke; great grandson, Wyatt Lilly; former daughter-in-law Terrie Varmecky; siblings, Alfred Birch (Nancy) and Earl Birch (Theresa); sister-in-law, Julia Collins; and nieces, nephews and step grandchilren. Member of Benscreek Congregation of Jehovah's Witness. She loved her God, Jehovah, her family and friends unconditionally. She was a huge Steelers fan. A 1955 Conemagh Township High School graduate. A memorial service will be held 1:00 on November 18, 2023, Kingdom Hall, Ferndale Ave. John Henderson Co. is in charge of arrangements.
