James R. Jacoby

James R. Jacoby, 88, Johnstown, died July 20, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center. Born August 20, 1935, in Johnstown. Son of Samuel Ernest and Ethel May (Berkebile) Jacoby. Preceded in death by parents, wife Roberta (Snyder), sisters Lois and Helen, grandson Geoffrey. Survived by wife Linda Burkey; children Sherry Roxanne (Frank Blair), Kevin Wayne Jacoby; siblings Sam and Rae; grandchildren Yvonne (Brian Krise), Roger Logue and Gregory Jacoby; great grandchildren Katelyn (Devon Marshall), Abbigail, Daelan and Alexandria; three great great grandchildren. He was a member of Moxham Church of the Brethren where he was part of the choir. He was also part of the barbershop quartet. US Army Veteran. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed fishing. Friends will be received Wednesday from 5-7 pm at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 am, Pastor Dan Rhodes officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for assistance with funeral expenses. John Henderson Company Funeral Home is serving the family.
