James Gibson Eyler

EYLER- James Gibson Jr., 82, Johnstown, formerly of Summerfield, FL. Passed away January 15, 2021. Born November 24, 1938 in Johnstown. Son of James Sr. And Laura (Moffit) Eyler. Preceded in death by his wife, Lena Mae (Opdenhoff) to whom he was married to for 59 years, along with his parents and son-in-law Mark Donato. Survived by his children, Pamela Donato and James III; grandchildren, Anthony Donato, Derek Donato, Amanda Shatzer married to Chris, and Michael Goad married to Whitleigh; great grandchildren, Aryn LaBane, Natalie Donato, Brooklynn and Landen Shatzer and Adelyn Goad; sisters-in-law Donna Wolf and Joyce McCleester; brother-in-law Ed Opdenhoff married to Ruth; numerous nieces and nephews; and a good friend Linda. Jim was a 1956 graduate of Johnstown High School. Member of Grace Assembly of God, Johnstown. Former employee of Bethlehem Steel for 30 years and retired as a supervisor of Production Scheduling. Jim worked for MetLife Insurance Co., Richland Twp., for seven years. Worked at several golf facilities in South Carolina and Florida over a 22 year period. He was active in Local, County and State politics for twenty years in Pennsylvania. Jim served as Richland Twp. Supervisor and Auditor. Co-Host of local television show, "Grow in Grace" for five years. With his wife, Lena, they co-hosted a religious broadcast for Christian Television. He enjoyed singing in church and was active in assisted living ministry in Florida, while attending Trinity Assembly of God. Friends will be received from 3:00 until 7:00 on Tuesday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, (MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIRED) where funeral service will be held at 1:00 on Wednesday. Rev.
