Irene (Birk) Lasagna

Irene Lasagna, 96, Johnstown, died November 1, 2024 at home. Born February 16, 1928, in Conemaugh, daughter of Anthony and Bertha (Kalinyak) Birk. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Paul whom she married February 4, 1950; and brothers, Thomas, and twins John and Edward. Survived children, Robert (Lynda Kerr); Jean (Martin Ryba); Linda (Dean Black); and Kathy (Robert Woloschuk); 10 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren; and brother William (Silvia Cabella). She was a member of Church of the Transfiguration. She was a retired LPN from Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. Irene enjoyed crocheting and quilting, and donating many of her quilts and afghans to various charities. Friends received 4-7PM Tuesday at Henderson-Makuchan Funeral Home, 434 First St., Conemaugh. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 10AM at Church of the Transfiguration with Father Matthew Baum as celebrant. Committal, Richland Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Transfiguration.
