Irene Harr Obituary

HARR - Irene (0leksa), 86, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2019. Irene passed away peacefully at home. Born August 22, 1933, daughter of Michael and Suzanna (Gera) Oleksa. Preceded in death by parents, husband Kenneth Harr, brothers John, Steve, Paul and Michael Oleksa; sisters Ann (Oleksa) Zapothechne, Mary (Oleksa) Sokach and Sue (Oleksa) Barczak; brother-in laws Michael Sokach, Ed Zapothechne, Leo Barczak and sister-in-law Catherine (Husla) Oleksa. Survived by son, Matthew; brothers George and Rudy (married to Carol) Oleksa; sister-in-laws Helen (Cushman) Oleksa and Miriam (Gallagher) Oleksa; and many nieces and nephews. Irene was a loving mother who will be sadly missed. She liked to cook, keep busy around the house and was an avid Steeler fan. Irene always attended mass (when she was able), watched EWTN and prayed the rosary daily. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church, Conemaugh. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family, Rev. Dr. Father Robert Oravetz officiating. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Henderson-Makuchan Funeral Home, 434 First St., Conemaugh.
