Howard Matthews Obituary

Howard C. Matthews, 79, Davidsville, died June 11, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 5, 1941, in Johnstown, son of Woodrow and Emma Jane (Dorer) Matthews. Preceded in death by parents; and son, Bruce. Survived by wife, Karen (McCreary); sons, Steve (Jane); and Doug (Laurie); daughter-in-law, Laura; and grandchildren, Seth, Kara, Phillip, Jonathan, Ava, Gavin and Gracie.Howard was a graduate of Richland High with the Class of 1959. He was a member of VFW Post 155. Howard served on the Goodwill Industry Board, and Conemaugh Twp. Planning Commission for 15 years. He was the owner of the former Keystate Inc. He was a USAF veteran of the Vietnam Era. By request, there will be no public viewing. A Celebration of Howard's Life will be announced and held at a later date. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cambria County Humane Society. John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., is serving the Matthews family.
