Helen S. (Molchany) Klanchar

Helen S. Klanchar (Molchany), 78, life long resident of Johnstown, died July 16, 2023. Born August 24, 1944, daughter of the late Andrew and Suzanna (Ferencko) Molchany. Preceded in death by her husband, David R. Survived by daughter, Cynthia Anne (Frank Kist); granddaughter, Jennifer R. Kist; sisters, Mary Ann (widow of Edward Chappie); Catherine (widow of Dr. Elliot Immerman); brother, Frank (Norma Burkey); sister-in-law, Joey Klanchar; brother-in-law, John Klanchar; nieces, Leanna (Chappie) Hollan, Karen (Chappie) Meier, and Annie Immerman; nephews, Robert Molchany, Dr. Benjamin Immerman, and John Klanchar. A special thanks to Karen Dreikorn for all of the assistance to the family. Helen was retired from the former Johnstown Savings Bank. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, where she sang in the church and funeral choirs. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, praying the rosary, baking with her granddaughter, teaching Slovak, listening to polkas, and having family over for a nice homemade meal. Friends received 5-7PM Wednesday at John Henderson Company Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave. Funeral mass will be held 11AM Thursday at St. Clement Church, with Father William Rosenbaum as celebrant.
