Gail L. Jones

Gail L. Jones born March 31, 1924, went home to her Lord and Saviour on March 17, 2020. Gail graduated from East Conemaugh H.S. In 1943. She graduated in 1950 from the Women’s Homeopathic Hospital of Philadelphia and also received her Registered Nursing license from Pennsylvania in 1950 and was also licensed as a registered nurse from the State of Indiana in 1950. She graduated from Grace Theological Seminary, Winona Lake, Indiana with a Bachelor of Christian Education in 1952. Gail also received a post-graduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Operating Room Technician and Management, in 1957. Gail worked as a Registered Nurse/Supervisor at Lee Hospital, Golden Living (now Richland Healthcare) and LaurelWood Care Center. I Corinthians 15:3,4-“For I delivered unto you first of all that I also received how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” Gail served her Lord and Saviour in the Central African Republic as a missionary for over 20 years and was blessed to serve with her close missionary friend, Janet Varner, who predeceased her in 2015. She was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Margaret E. Jones. She is preceded in  death by her brothers, Fred and Charles and sister Maxine, and special friend and sister in the Lord, Helen Statler, whom she cared for many years. Gail is survived by a niece, Jean Barta, Cousins, Cora Shroyer, Jane Thornton and Bud Latz, and special friends, Fred and Cathy Robertson. Gail was a member of the Conemaugh Grace Brethren Church. There will be no  viewing due to the COVID 19 restrictions. In memory of Gail, donations may be made to Conemaugh Grace Brethren Church, 2nd Street, Johnstown, PA. 15909. A private graveside service will be held with Pastor H. Don Rough officiating. Special thanks to the staff at Harmony House Manor and Dave, a fellow resident at Harmony House, who always looked out for Gail;  the Richland Health Care staff, and the staff at Aseracare Hospice.
